When I do visits, I like to talk about creative writing, both at the story level AND the sentence level. I help kids put together a rough outline of a story and encourage them to participate in the Middle-grade Story Contest, of which I am the Editor in Chief. I also read a sample of my book, SCHOOL and answer questions about writing.
